Meet Marcelo De Sousa LMFT

I’m Marcelo De Sousa, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist offering telehealth psychotherapy to adults throughout Hawaii. My work is grounded in a simple belief: meaningful change happens through genuine human connection, not through being reduced to a label or a diagnosis.
I trained in Integral Counseling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), a program that shaped how I understand the whole person — emotional, relational, and existential. Alongside that foundation, my experience in LGBTQ+ affirmative care, harm reduction counseling, and relational psychotherapy allows me to sit comfortably with emotionally complex, psychologically minded, and spiritually curious people who are looking for something deeper than symptom relief.

How I work

My approach is warm, collaborative, and human-centered. Rather than focusing only on quick fixes or short-term coping strategies, I create space to explore the deeper patterns at play in your life — the ones connected to identity, relationships, grief, purpose, spirituality, and emotional well-being. Many of the people I work with appear capable and steady on the outside while privately feeling exhausted, disconnected, or uncertain about what comes next. Therapy with me is a place to set that down and be genuinely heard.
I work well with high-functioning professionals, creatives, caregivers, LGBTQ+ individuals, spiritually open adults, and people in midlife navigating divorce, loss, career change, aging, or starting over. If you value self-awareness, emotional honesty, and authenticity — and you’re ready to understand yourself more fully — we’ll likely work well together.

Telehealth across Hawaii

Because my practice is fully telehealth, I’m able to work with adults on every island — Oʻahu, Maui, Kauaʻi, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, and Hawaiʻi Island. Sessions happen securely from wherever you feel most comfortable, which makes consistent, depth-oriented care possible no matter where you live in the islands.
